Extra work in Alterations

When you get a gown altered, and you decide to change the shape of a gown, there is cost associated with this process. For instance, making an A line gown and turning into a mermaid gown. You are now changing the "bones" of the gown. To expect an alterations person to do this type of work, this is like making a gown from scratch. You can do anything, but there is a cost for major changes to a gown.
